Why HD and Why 5.1 Surround Sound?

Surely you’ve noticed that when you go to a movie theater lately, you don’t have any trouble understanding what the actors are saying in the movie. Without getting all “technical” here, the reason is simple: SEPARATION. 5.1 Audio and 7.1 audio for movies have one thing in common … a center speaker (or channel) that only has the spoken audio in it.
Music and effects are “mixed” to the other speakers in the movie theater sound system, and now that technology has become ubiquitous in homes and on broadcast and cable television stations. In fact, it is so common that it is now making its way into automotive sound systems.
It should be obvious that (especially for commercials) you would want your video to be understood, your message to the consumer to be clear. But it is shocking how many commercial producers do not create the audio for their TV commercials or (especially) local Movie Theater Preview commercials in this wonderful and clear format. We DO!
This technology is a wonderful benefit for people who have mild hearing loss, because it brings the spoken audio to the forefront of the listening environment. This takes away the normal “muddy” response that you hear in most “stereo mixed” two-speaker commercials and productions. But the secret of making this work is done in the video or audio production. We have all of the tools necessary to make your video production (and all of our new productions) in 5.1 surround sound.
Why have your commercial, or DVD produced for anything less than the best broadcast standards available? And we don’t charge extra for this, it is part of our normal production service… just doing it better.
